Gameplay and Controls
Children gently tilt the device to guide a beetle along wide roads, collect optional stars, and reach the flag.
Parent and guardian information
Lady Beetle is a gentle, single-player game built around coordination, discovery, and short play sessions—with adults in control of anything outside the game.

Signed-out progress remains on the device. A parent may optionally enable a Firebase account to sync progress and join leaderboards.
Resetting progress and leaving the child-focused experience require an adult action or parental gate.
The app uses the device accelerometer to control movement. Readings are processed immediately on the device and are not stored or sent to us. Help younger children hold the device securely, preferably while seated, and take a break if movement becomes uncomfortable.
The game stores unlocked levels, stars, best times, tutorial status, legal acceptance, audio choices, haptic choices, and tilt sensitivity in local app storage. With an optional account, the confirmed profile, progress, stars, best times, and score tuples also sync through Firebase. A parent can sign out, reset progress, edit profile attributes, or delete the account in Settings.
The game has no in-app volume slider and plays at whatever level your device is set to, so please set the media volume yourself before handing the device over — and check it again after connecting headphones, a speaker or car audio. Music, sound effects and haptics can each be switched off in Settings, and the game is fully playable in silence. There are no streaks, timers, daily rewards or notifications, so session length is entirely your call. Full guidance is in the Health & Safety Notice.
Legal, support, profile, reset, sign-out and deletion actions are intended for adults. Each action that leaves the child-focused game — opening the Terms, Privacy Policy or Health & Safety Notice — sits behind a parental gate, on the first-launch screen and again in Settings. Resetting progress, changing a saved profile, signing out and deleting an account are gated too. The Leaderboards button is visible without a multiplication gate, and the Google or Apple sign-in step is not itself gated: it requires the account already signed in to the device, and uploads nothing until the following screen, where a parent supplies the nickname, age and country and gives the account acknowledgement. After that setup, viewing boards is not parent-gated. A parental gate keeps a young child from wandering out of the game by accident; it is not identity verification and does not replace supervision.
Google or Apple sign-in creates only a session and uploads nothing. The profile step that follows explains the upload and records the parent’s acknowledgement of the current policy version before the first upload. If a name, age and country were already entered in Settings, those are used and the step is skipped. The locale region only suggests a country; no precise-location permission is requested. Leaderboard rows show nickname, rank, completion time, and optional same-run stars—not email, raw age, country, provider ID, or Firebase user ID. Provider linking is not supported, so use the same provider on each device.
While a board holds fewer than twenty real times, the remaining places are filled with fictional entries so a new player has someone to race. They are invented by the app on your device and are not other children. See What Other Players Can See for the full description.
